Bush tried his version of Reaganomics and it failed very badly didn't it. By giving tax breaks to large corporations who were supposed to create jobs with said tax breaks, they ended up relocating said jobs to other countries. By giving tax breaks to the wealthiest just invited them to move their assets offshore to prevent them from being taxed.
When Bush took over from Clinton, the national debt was at about 3.2 trillion dollars with a budget surplus. What happened during Bush's term to cause the national debt to balloon to where it was when Obama took over? Don't go say it was the Dems that was responsible either. Check out Bush's veto record for the years that he was in office.
In the end, to reduce the national debt, taxes will have to go up and spending will have to decrease. Plain and simple.
