A pot would esentialy be the same thing I have tried.. Problem is the power supply regulates the amount of amps it puts out depending on the load requirments. For what ever reason, the power supply will not correctly "power up" to supply the amperage I need if I have a resistor in line between the 24 volt output and the 12 volt load. The math shows the voltage divider should be made up of two 1000 ohm resistors. I get the correct voltage without a load just no amperage.
