I tend to see all sides of an issue and point out the discrepancies. Any type of detonation would risk damaging the well head and the sea floor. If indeed the seafloor is cracked and or leaking, you risk causing greater leakage with a detonation.
Russia has been successful with using nuclear devices on above ground gas blow outs only. It has never been tried on anoil blow out above ground, let alone 5000' under water.
One would hope that between the two relief wells being drilled, BP would be successful in at least capping off the well. As for the rumor of the sea floor being cracked and leaking oil, if that is the case, one would hope that technology is around that would enable the cracks to be sealed.
