Apples n oranges.  How can you compare the two?  Here lets see what else is out there we have done that makes construction a pimple on our ass.  Building plant is you against yourself.  Installs is you against the world.  Installs can be high pressure environment.  You can do everything right and still not control your own destiny on installs, dispatch, the customer, the previous tech, the maint techs, the warehouse guy, the construction crew, traffic, the weather, and the neighbors dog influence how your day transpires.  Nothing like being out of equipment till lunch on a Friday or Saturday, and none of your jobs cancel.  I have worked in a stove foundary as gangway and will bet your britches their isn't many, more physically demanding work out in the world and without a doubt nothing in this business as near as hard as that foundry work.  Any job in cable is a cakewalk compared to that one.  So your point about linework is?  Have done foundation repair and it sucked too but installs are a stressful job and now the pay has went down so low I don't understand why these guys do it.  Unless you have done installs when its slammed you don't have a clue as to what it takes.
