. I like the bucket idea, good for tight spaces, especially if the plant owner / MSO you are working for would OK useing 3 different diameter coils (Say trunk-2.5', feeders-2.25' and 2') within eachother, one on each side. Fortunately the last 3 or 4 jobs I have had I called the shots and could design as I see fit.
I always design / install peds with ways to get slack for the coax and at least a half dozen loops for the fiber (usually in it's own ped) and a couple other design features for future damages / contingincies. Like turning the station 180 degrees so the cables have to reach the far side of the ped from there respective entry points and the double back some to get where they need be.
But anyway, as you guessed, this was done way before my time
