I have been doing VSAT for almost 9 months now using the BIRD-DOG with Hughes HN7000. Now I'm using the Hughes HN9000 for commercial and residential service. I've been told that the BIRD-DOG cannot be use to find the satellite needed for this modem. Instead there is a supplied DAPTH by Hughes which has to be use. Yeah yeah I know its not only used to find the bird, but also supply the modem with related info and fine tuning. Now my question is this, do anyone know if we could just the BIRD-DOG to find the satellite fast then use the DAPTH meter afterwards?
