Exactly!

  I spent some time on the road for a company that paid prevailing union wages for work on government bases. The gross checks were over a thousand a week and we had around $800.00 in out hands on Fridays. Some guys just deposited the check and drove home to their families for the week end. Others stayed in town and did the whore, drug and DUI thing.
  After awhile I would arrive in the new town early and find a room near the work and away from the obvious bars and party locations.
What got old was the guys with the cash on Fridays needing to borrow on Tuesdays...being hard to find on payday...and finding them stealing your stuff.
   All that with ok pay. I have yet to see satellite or cable work that would justify paying travel expenses. Spend three or four hundred bucks for a room, food, fuel & booze...what is left?  + why do it?
