YES it is possible. Where in the system do you see such a difference.
1-      Optic link should not be affected much by temperature swing.
2        What is the maximum cascade in each run.
3        What is the temperature swing in your area.
4-       Are you amplifier equipped with any temp. control AGC-TLC.
5-       Are you sure your sweep system is adjusted like the last time.
After you answer these questin, I could be able to help you a bit better.
