Re: Old cabldawgs solution to oil leak

First I've heard of the 200 year theory, but I can't imagine it being that big of a reserve. The problem I am hearing is that the oil is flowing out with the force of 7 fire hoses. I like the idea of putting an inflatable 'ring' inside the pipe, but I don't think it would work at that depth. I still say to blow the shit out of it.

The redrilling is a non issue for several reasons. Things like relief wells are being drilled now anyway. If the original was sealed, the thought that BP wouldn't be able to drill it again is crazy. The oil WILL be pumped out by one company or another as no one will let that much money/resources go untouched/exploited.

Even if BP is out of there, it is in their best interest financially to stop it now, since it costs them daily, per gallon, spilled. But make no mistake about it, somebody WILL drill and remove that oil.

Ed, I asked before, and maybe you missed it but, have you seen anything on the beach yet?
