There is a micro switch on parking brake or wire tied into your neutral/park safety switch, like your truck won't start in gear only park/neutral
there is a relay in your control box that removes boom control power when you put it in gear, I bet you can have your boom extended then put it in gear or release your parking brake and it will not move..find that relay and bypass it, should work fine
If you have the altec speed control box that controls the rpm's when you move the bucket, it should be in that box and there is a small jumper that can be moved
Is it a fully insulated boom(Power Truck).. if so that is the power companys spec to altec to prevent shock accidents.
you might want to buy a altec book on the boom, always a lifesaver to have on hand and will include the control module wiring diagram
