Comcast bill details new Extreme 105Mbps broadband service
If you like your Internet speeds to be equivalent to that of an Indy race car taking a hot lap at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you’ll probably be interested in a new Extreme tier for Internet access soon to be offered by Comcast.
Back in March, we reported about a new 100MBps Internet service Comcast had planned to roll-out, but Electronista says specific details of the service are now available thanks to a Comcast customer who posted a section of his Comcast bill to DSLReports. The bill indicates that a new Extreme 105 Cable Modem Internet Service will be available on or around June 1st.
The service would require a new modem, the Arris WBM760, and would offer download speeds of up to 105 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 Mbps. A Netgear WNR3500 router would also be provided at no cost. A one-time service fee of $249 would be charged to those signing up while the ongoing service cost would be $199.95 a month. Unfortunately, the bill evidently had more information than some Comcast employees had based on reports of phone calls to Comcast agents who were unaware of the service.
