Listen to what you just said. You said a bigger portion of the population is draining the government. We are a nation of near full employment. Even now, during one of our roughest hours, about 85% of us are working.
The problem is the profits generated in this country goes to 1% of the people. During the past decade, wages for workers did not grow. But CEO compensation and corporate profits went through the roof. You can't starve the people to the point they can't afford to purchase the products they sell and make.
But you are correct about our debt. But it is better to tackle to debt AFTER the economy is strong enough to take it on. Tackling debt is not a problem, compared to trying to rebuild our economy after a depression. Besides, Dems are the only party who have ever balanced the Federal budget.
