Ok, this is what I found out so far.  Most lawyers wont touch this with a 50' pole.  The girls at the circuit courts are dumb as a rock.  I have started asking alot of questions about expungments and pardons.  Little to say.  No 2 advise are the same.  I have heard so many different things its unreal.  Basically, highly confusing.  So I decided to take this on myself.  Here in the state of Va.  You have to wait 5 years before anything can be done.  Plus, its $96 to get the paper work going.  After that, I have to get finger printed by the local sheriff so it came be given to the state police to make sure it comes out clean.  Then I have to get a copy of the warrant that was served on me when everything happened.  So far alot of foot work on my end, which is fine as long as I know something is getting done.  All this for a misdeamnor.  What hurts about this .  Its a class 1 misdeamnor. (assult)  That is what everybody is looking at.  Anyway, after being told, it cant be done, you have been convicted, you need a pardon, you need to do this and that.  I am slowlly working it one step at a time.  If this ever happens agian,  I'll make it worth the while instead of throwing somebody out of my house.
