All this for an asault charge? Well, honestly, can you blame them? The world is so fucked up today, they don't want to take the chance you might just lose it and go off on someone when working. Didn't you say you only have a couple of months left before it gets removed or something like that? Best to just sit it out. You'd be no worse off than you already are. It might be different if you knew the people hiring or in the company to vouch for you, but without that ability to tell your side, you can't blame them for shying away from you man. I am sorry to hear it but don't know what else to say about the subject.
