If you use any other frequency that between 50 to 52 MHz or between 67.5 to 77.0 MHz you are actually using a full TV channel. The frequency width of the data between the head end gear and your field equipment usually require around +/- 300 Kh, so why use a full TV channel for a frequency need of +/- 300 Kh.

Course if you have a lot of MHz space why not use a TV channel. Again these head end gear and field gear are usually only capable of transmitting between them in the spaces mentioned above 50 to 52 MHz and between 65.7 to 77.0 MHz.
