Jobs are NOT the driving force. Jobs/employment is a lagging indicator. DEMAND is the driving force of an economy. Once theres demand, jobs are needed to fullfill the orders. Demand, then jobs. Cause, then effect. Leading indicators, then lagging indicators You cant have jobs, without demand. Just like you cant have effect, without cause.
As Ive been saying since day 1. There are leading and lagging economic indicators. The leading economic indicators have been doing quite well, it was just a matter of time until the lagging indicators started to do well. There is no majic wand. This is what recovery looks like. Nothing the size of the US economy gets turned around over night.
President Obama has taken us down the right paths. Once employment levels get better, the debt can be addressed. In a few months we will be out of Iraq. Shortly after that, we will be out of Afghan. This and other things will save us tons of money. Hopefully, NAFTA will be revisited.
