You all have great points. This is a very small town and everybody knows everybody. I have talked to quite a few people as well as a few other deputies, and literally everyone has said absolutely "DO NOT" refund the money. I have actually contemplated this all day and weighed all the pros and cons. As far as a disount, I actually made an additional trip back the same day because she called and said the mute button didnt work, so I gave her a more expensive remote, a 625 UHF remote, and all that at no charge and gave her a 6 month warranty on the remote. Anybody who has been in the telecommunications world knows that a "same day" response to any service issue is virtually unheard of. But I am a very stubborn man and believed that I was completely fair but I am afraid of what the repercussions of actually being arrested might be for my company, not to mention my family. Nobody can run a business and refund customers who dont like what they are charged and escpecially ones that where completely aware of from the start. So I have decided there is no way I would give a full refund but out of the good graciousness of my heart, I would refund $40.00 of the charge. I dont believe it is fair to me, my family or my company but I think losing $40.00 is better than my family losing me for no telling how long.....
