6-12 inches: That's what I was always told.

As a matter of fact I thought there was a depth chart of all the utilities. We each had to follow specific parameters. I'm probably more confusing than being helpful so don't quote me on this info. Besides, that was new employee training back in '99. My learning curve was zero to one thousand back then and its hard to remember all the details. I was focused on remembering the difference between RG6 and RG59 back then.
