Got a pat on the back, from another linemen. We set 2-35' new poles for a creek crossing, with a new 1.5' conduit self support 200', and then transfer 4 separate existing 2" self support conduits with anchors. That's the scope of work, pretty much. The new build was for one phone co and the transfers were for another phone co. Thus, each phone co had their own inspector there to inspect, while we did the work. Got the picture now?
So, I tell my green bean hook to go frame out the new pole on the other side of the creek. Well,, the inspector for the other phone co was over there and had his bucket parked by it, and I see my green bean talking to him. Then my greennie climbs up the pole and the inspector starts walking across the bridge towards me. Now what!! I thought. The inspector says to me that he offered his bucket with a electric drill to my green bean and was told no thanks. That he was not allowed in a bucket, until he showed, that he could do his job off of hooks. The inspector was surprised to see a brace and bit with a hand line and a bag of hardware. The inspector says he is an old linemen, and that he can see that we have things under control, and ask me, if he needed to be here. Only if you wanna be, I told em. He told me he would drop back by, later that afternoon. There's more to it, but, that's pretty much it in a nut shell. So,, I'll take what was said as a pat on the back.
