Yea but dont let it confuse ya. Having that truck, insurance and many thousands of dollars invested in tools, large fuel bills, Motels to pay for is pretty heavy on the shoulders. Not to mention come december when your getting your check every week, the guy with the truck gets to look out the window at it hoping feb or march comes soon so some work will start back up. Those cold rainy days when you can sit in your truck half the day in house dont work when your production. Hard to bill any hours during a snowstorm. Then comes the month before the gig is up and you have to look for the next gig. But the biggest is, you can go to your sons or daughters baseball games instead of getting pictures sent to you as you spend most of your time in a motel. My oldest son is 11 years old, Ive spent most of them on the road. My youngest just turned 7. All of them on the road.
Dont get me wrong, there are good points as well. All in what your life sets in front of you. Grass seems greener on the other side of the fence but, either way your bout a month from poverty. Only difference is when work slows to a stop you get to draw unemployment and mow the yard, I gotta pick up aluminum cans lol. Can you tell I just signed another one year contract? I miss my boys. Dam its hard being a dad.
