I have seen these things rerouted as a service call. The new tech shows up and if he makes any attempt to fix it he is the last guy involved. By this time the customer is already pissed off. Then they get someone else saying they are not going to fix it.
My fav was a call to Directv that I had made a roof leak. The mast was attached to a truss tail outside the building line. When it rained the little old lady hung her laundry in the basement and that is when she found the puddles on the floor......"never leaked before that Directv guy was here....he better get his ass out and fix it before my house is wrecked."
The water was coming from the first floor toilet. Each flush brought water into the basement and it looked and smelled like it had been like that for years!
I just left.
