No one can insure anything in life. The goal is to put yourself in the best possible position to achieve your goal. If your goal is simply to have a route, no matter the pay, organizing is probably not something you would be interested in. But if your goal is to build up your trade, so that the the skill, tools, and time you have invested into the trade continues to be of value, saying NO won't be that hard.
Besides, if I can't give you a route, I can send you to a few janitorial services who need help moping floors. You would probably even make more money. It's not like a cable route is "gold". Hell, its not even bronze..
