This was a DOE (Dept of Energy) project, so the lids were left off until construction was complete. Allowing us to get around the confined space permiting process, which in turn saved me alot of time. Yeah,,,it was great being able to see what was going on in the hole, without having to climb inside. Made set ups a breeze.
