I just found a bunch of review sheets from multiple years, and every review report stated my volume of work was well above average (you being average mitchell). I have had management follow behind me on jobs checking my work because, like you wrongly believe, they thought there was no way I could do the volume of work I claimed every week without "taking short cuts". They were good too because I had no idea they were on my ass like they were. Then 15 years or so ago, I came into work and I was called into the president of the companies office. The conversation went like this:
Mark, it has come to my attention that you have been billing for abnormally high amounts of work since you started here last month.
Abnormally high?
Well, you are billing almost twice the amount of our previous best workers billing on this job.
Do I win a prize!?
No prize, but I want to apologize to you.
For?
Because I was convinced that you were penciling in the work worst case, best case you were taking short cuts.
[Me getting pissed off] You want to say that again...
Calm down Mark, I called you in here to apologize to you. I had Dan follow you the last 2 weeks. That is why he has had everyones work late, because he was using all his time following and checking everything you did.
[Really pissed off now] Where the fuck do you get off following me!
Mark, I'm sorry. We have never had anyone that hustled before like you without taking short cuts.
I don't ever take short cuts! I do my fucking job and I do it well! You've never had a call on me for shoddy fucking work!
Mark, we know and we wanted to come clean with you and apologize. Your work is above the standard we have become accustomed to seeing and we want to know if you would help us out in the field showing the others the right way of doing things.
[Me calming down] Why the hell didn't you just ask me? Why did you do this shit?
...and the conversation ended shortly after with my promotion to field supervisor. Now I don't know Island and I don't know you, but I know the way you post you are nothing more than a wannabe. You haven't written one thing to verify your skill set at all, whereas Island has posted many things proving he is not trying to be someone he isn't on the internet. Your instant accusation of him taking short cuts is completely uncalled for. As far as I am concerned, fuck Island, I'll take you on myself and show you how an install should be done. Just because you are slow and can't hustle while doing the job right, doesn't mean that we that know what we are doing, don't.
So you really need to keep your yap shut, you are not helping anything beyond you furthering the fact that you are nothing more than a wanna-be.
