Re: For Crying Out Loud!!! This is an injustice t

I don't think it is complete bullshit.  I was out of work back in 1995 for about 6 months.  My husband had just bought and taken over a small appliance
business and was trying to get it up and running.  Needless to say we were broke.  I applied for food stamps.  Back then you had to go in every week
and have your allotted money put on a card at the food stamp office.  I don't know how it works these days.  We were receiving $78 a month for food.
There was a woman in front of me with 4 kids in tow who was my age at the time (mid thirties), she was complaining about how long it was taking to
get her $800 dollars for her and her four kids.  Now keep in mind I was getting $78 a month because I was not yet married to my husband, and the 2 kids
were his from a previous marriage, I had to make that seventy-eight dollars stretch for the whole month, which I sure did.  No McDonald's and all that other
crap.  She was getting $200 a month per child for food.  Let me repeat that......$200 a month per child, and she had 4 children.

This is no bullshit.  It is folks like you who think that it is bullshit that have allowed the government and abusers of the system continue with
business as usual.

I was wondering at the time if she was feeding the family pet steak since food stamps does not pay for dog food.........

So Drifter and Toast I hope you never have to try to survive on food stamps without a couple dozen anchor babies! LOL(kidding with you, I don't wish food
stamps on anyone who wants to make their way in this world)
