I've seen both of those.

It's very common for people to have birth, death, and wedding announcements in papers that were or are local to them recently. It's done all the time, even to this day, when those same people live in or are visiting other states, countries, or even other continents, so that their old friends and acquaintances learn about the event!

The notices only give a date of birth, and the last known address of the parents.

They do not state, nor do they imply, where Obama was born! No hospital, no location, no doctor, no country of birth .... nothing!

In short, they do NOT prove where Obama was born. They are simply a notice of his birth.
