sda 5000 is not the only meter to chase noise with, i use the dsam all the time with the upstream spectrum. ( i actually have both meters) battery life of the dsam rocks plus its light weight for hookin poles. 5000 is a bad mofo though. i use the mod function to tell if there is a crack on plant or on customers house, hook at the ground block each side and tune to (Fort Worth Station) 102.1 and if i get fm radio on my plant or on customers house side i know to turn it back to the tech turning the call over for ingress or go fix my ShxT. catches lazy asses all the time. problem is i am too nice, if the customer is home i go ahead and fix the problem.(mainly b/c if the dumbshit couldnt figure it out the first time what makes me think he would get it on a second trip to their house)...
