Dodd became Chairman in 2007. The housing crisis started in 2006.
HR 3221 was passed in the house in Aug. 2007. When the bill came to the senate in Feb 2008, the GOP blocked it. It finally got passed in the Senate, April 2008, with 25% of Reps voting NO

Just more of the same. Republicans had control for 6 yrs, and did nothing. Dems get in charge and are expected to clean the GOP's 6 yr old mess, in just 6 months.
