Yeah I have heard about that.. but dont have the $$ to buy one, nor the room to carry it with me.. At this point I think I am just going to order a new tape and keep my old Greenlee reel as I have never had a prob with it other than the bends (which are inevitable).
Didn't realize fish tape had a shelf life til after I put in for a clogged conduit and our U/G guy sent someone out, only to fish it with their tape with no problems. This was the beginning of the follies...
