Hospitals and Doctor's offices are run as businesses, the same as a retail store. If a retail store incurs a loss through let's say shoplifting, do you think that they just accept it. Hell no they don't, they raise the price on something else to make up the loss that they incurred. If they didn't, how long would they stay in business?
Hospitals and Doctors are no different. That is why one aspirin in a hospital can cost upwards of $400.00. Or a five day stay in a hospital can cost around $35,000 depending on where you live in the country.
