The black spot in your pic - has nothing to do with electrodes or calibration
Looks like foreign material in/on the lens
Been splicing in the dirt?
The mirrors on the lid are for reflecting the diode light for the cameras to see. Thats their only function.
Any dust problems like you have here usually comes from the cameras. If you been in the dirt you may have a bad seal and dust got inside the camera. If you use 99.9 Isoprotyol on the cameras the strenth of the alcohol will rot the seal around the lens.
Might be a scratch...hard to tell without seeing the machine in person
I just had one camera replaced in a 40s due to micro-scratches on the lens causing mis identification of fiber (identifying sm as mm).....cost 650$
