Re: The National Debt

Well new history is being written. Money borrowed and the national debt bigger than ever. In one year. But I see that isn't in the graph. Yep those darn dems are so good for us now. how does that debt go down? Doesn't say that either. Taxes? But you go ahead and show your graph and that it was a president and not a congress that did it. Much of it by fighting the gop the way the gop is fighting the dems now.  Yea you are a good cheerleader for the party. Party is everything isn't it? Too bad you don't see the big picture and I have grown tired of explaining it.

Since you want to use a graph that is block in form and designed to show only one side, how about this one?

Now this shows that under Carter the deficit was on its way down before Reagan took over. The momentum hard to stop and Reagan was able to get it moving upward again. Then under the first Bush it went down no doubt to the gulf war changing stock market prices on oil and borrowing. But wait, before he goes out of office it is going up. Just in time for Clinton to step in and coast on the dot com bubble which had stock markets and everyone happy. Not because of the dems but because of the timing. And look, just before Clinton goes out of office, and Al gore might win here, the deficit is going down again. and then a war starts, the libs force the banks to loan money to people that can't pay it back and causing the mortgage crisis. But wait again, look it is on its way UP before Bush goes out of office. Sharply. But Obama and his administration which is totally dem controlled take us into the worse borrowing the US has ever seen. The worse deficit from all the presidents is now. Each time a republican took office except Nixon and Ford, (and that was an obvious reason) the trend is downward and it is upward on their way out. Timing is everything isn't it? We also need to remember who was running congress at the time. Reagan had a dem controlled congress. But Bush had a republican controlled congress and things did not go well. They were insane with spending and power the same as the dems are now.
