Yes this post is old, but I need to reply.  I would say that you probably did crap work for him.  I was driving from my home in Missouri to El Dorado AR and Greenville MS (6 HRS AWAY) every week and stay in motels.  I have a wife and 3 kids at home and they knew it.  I had a check my second week of work and got one every week thereafter.  Then, I did some stupid shit, went to the casino in Bossier City, got drunk, got a DWI, got locked up and van impounded.  They offered to get me out (only to find out I had a BS warrant out of missouri for child support and had to get extradited). 

Anyways, they did what they could, even got my van out of impound and just took that cost out of my check.  Then, while locked up, they even sent every bit of my last 2 checks to my wife (minus impound fees).

I guess what I am saying is go to work for a Dish MSO and see how bad you get screwed.
