I agree, and disagree....
First off, if you are going to give techs a list with pricing for customs to show these people why wouldn't you back him up when he's on these jobs? and if you refuse to back him up, @ least offer to throw him something for saving the job as opposed to him walking away from it, or worse, expecting him to do all that additional work for free. Because had it been me, and I saw no benefit, I would have found a reason to dump that job. They make more then enough money on these jobs to eat into their profits a little in order to keep a tech happy. They need to wake up and realize that the techs in the field are the front line and good techs need to be treated well.
Yes, do it right the first time, but don't do it at all if you are not going to get paid right. It's the soft techs that don't stand up for themselves that have driven both cable and satellite pay rates into the ground....
