Again, it is no different than being required to carry auto insurance. If you don't have auto insurance, you can't legally drive that vehicle. If you get caught, you get fined, or have your vehicle impounded.
The only people who don't have health insurance now are the ones who can't buy it because the premiums are too high for them to afford, or people who have been denied coverage, or people who think that they are healthy and don't need insurance.
At today's health costs, every one needs to have insurance. If you don't have health insurance, and God forbid something happens, how are you going to pay for the services rendered? Bankruptcy? Not pay your bills and hope for the best?
That is where we are right now. That is why healthcare cost 2.4 trillion dollars last year.
