health care has been debated in form or another for almost 40 years. How much more debate is needed? Although I don't agree with Obama's decision to use reconciliation, I can understand where he is coming from. health care reform is so close now, closer than it ever was before. Not to forge ahead is foolish to say the least. Every Democrat who ultimately votes for this package and who is up for re-election, knows the danger they potentially face.
Last year, Obama called for a partisan approach for a comprehensive health care bill. The House version has about 238 republican additions to it. The Senate version has none. Why is that?
