Now you are getting a feel for the industry.
If you are used to dealing with people who do what they say and do their best to follow what they agree to do (follow orders) you will be at a disadvantage in satellite and some cable installation companies.
Sometimes those ads are run to see who is planning to quit.
Sometimes those ads are run to see if there is enough techs interested in working for less money than currently being paid.
Sometimes those ads are run to see who the competition could hire...dump some experienced guys and load up on newbies who may consider working cheaper.
Occasionally you get a legitimate operator who will call all responders.
Of this group of actual employers looking for staff or contractors I have found 50% honest & competent offices who pay on time and accurately for good work. The other 50% were less than satisfactory. So I avoid MASTEC, DirectSatUSA and Ironwood.
You may have different luck.
