with the introduction of the DTV P4 card there is no known hack for them as of today, but the Dish Network Cards can still be un-looped and re programed
then there is the FTA receivers (free to air) that can be un locked to receive over 1600 channels and you can combine multiable dishes to look at different satellites and get all the local, network, ppv & movies, the receivers are fairy cheap but the programming codes can be quite pricey
