I have worked for Charter as an in-house tech for over 3 years before losing my job after suffering a back injury. Before going to Charter I worked for contractors of Charter, and Comcast. While overall the pay was usually higher contracting, if you factored in the money saved in fuel, tools and benefits including paid time off, working in-house wins hands down. The only problem is finding the right system, I applied for a job with a Charter office and was offered $9.00/hr then went to another Charter office a couple hours away and got offered $12.00/hr to start. It's all about the system and what they have available in the budget. But if you can't get the right pay in your area, just keep contracting, nothing wrong with it!!!
