 i use an 18volt lithium ion ryobi and dont have probs coring ANY cable size. also, i charge my batteries less with it than any other drill i've had to date.  I had to borrow my bosses 18volt makita (new style) and the torque dang near ripped my hand off my arm.  i would suggest one of those two
