Shame on that person that threw you into that job without giving you that info. Sab3r is right about 16 db. with a 2db window above and below is the best (after input pad). If it's below that it may start flashing,above that and you can overdrive the pre-amp and reduce the life of the amp.Example....If you see an amp with a 0 pad on the input,it's a problem waiting to happen. If you see an amp with a 20 pad on the input check design. Check the specs. on style of amp you are useing. That's your best bet. Welcome,and good luck. Now you can ask about how to set up output. Question......Do you know the difference between a pad and an eq ? Just wondering.
