I'm not trying to offend anyone, because all of your points are valid, but I gather he was talking about RG6 drop cable, and referring to putting a standard RG6 fitting on RG6 quad cable. And it can be done with no compromise, if you're careful. First of all, I'm not condoning it! Just stating it can be done. I can't tell you how many cable systems I've worked in that wouldn't even give you quad fittings to use, sometimes even when they themselves used quad cable in that same system. And there is always quad cable present everywhere, even if the system isn't providing it themselves.

Now, back to the original paraphrased post. Yeah..... he pretty much sounds like a lazy hack!
