From what I was told contractors will be required to do "home certifications" here in the near future like the inhouse Comcast technicians do. I dont know if other meters have this option. I personally would stick with what the company uses that you work for. Comcast uses DSAM. They have extended life batteries for the dsam that you can purchase. Im sure you know you can use the standby instead of turning it off completely. And if you know the meter takes a long time to load up, just keep that in mind and hit the power button a little earlier so by the time you are at the tap or wherever its already loaded up and ready to go. I almost thought the dsam was a requirement for comcast contractors. Not 100% on that though.
