yea when the show came out it was more realistic or rather, dangerous. Crabbing was dangerous because when they had the opening for crabbing it would be like 36 hours. And it would only be a couple of times a year so these guys would have to go out in any weather condition to get their money. Any weather. Now they can only catch a certain amount a year. So they can take their time and it isn't as dangerous. if it is, then a captain has taken a chance for no reason. Although, weather can some up quickly and that water is open with no cove or place to hide. I have been out on the water before and it is great .............but a couple of times I thought "is this it?" "am I done?" Summer or winter that water will kill you in minutes.
