I know that Haiti is a cesspool to say the least. The government is not doing a good job for the people and promoting good education and good work ethics in its people. You would think that a couple of hundred years would be long enough to try to get your shit together but for whatever reason they have not due to corruption and watching out for #1.
I remember flying over that country and thinking to myself what a shithole. They have cut every tree down on their side of the island. You can see the border from the air. The Domican Republic side is full of trees and the Haitian side is clear cut.
I still think they need help after this earthquake though. They still need a hand from the international community in rescue efforts and just getting supplies to the people. After that I just dont know what we should do but throwing money at a corrupt Gov is not the answer.
