Unfortunately as we all know, when you take this work you are a subcontractor so employee rules do not apply. Please warn as many people as you can to stay away from these businesses, especially this one. They have a confirmed reputation of not paying techs/tech companies and in my personal opinion it's their "business plan" to do this. Get as much service as you can.. stop paying.. wait for the next round of suckers.. get service.. dont pay and so on. Someday it really is going to be the responsibilty of Direct and Dish to control tighter who they allow to service/install their customers and should implement a way by which to report these companies for unpaid labor. Dish/Direct pay for services based on installation/activated receivers then these "companies" create fictitious hurdles by which not to pay you...... BS..... they get paid either way, they then cross their fingers they can find any reason to attach to their thievery. These "installation middlemen" are just gutless. We do the attic crawl, while they crawl to the bank with the monies they were handed for that honestly provided work. Makes me sick. I don't worry too much, Karma is a bitch. Please do EXTENSIVE research with every engine search, state specific department of labor/business, licensing and each other, etc. These boards and the honest word of mouth of hard working techs and managers will eventually help us together weed out these losers. I know some decent companies and people that have been severely burned, because they didn't do the research. Sad.
