If your friend is a big NFL fan then Directv is the only way to go. I've had directv for 13 years just for that reason. That's really the only advantage I have ever seen with one or the other. Make sure there is a line of sight and the installer doesn't point the dish at a tree with no leaves on it. It will work now but when spring comes he will be pissed when his signal dies.
