As a tech I have many many times accepted food...sat at meals...with customers. They invited me. To touch or take anything is just a mistake! How about opening every drawer just to see what is in them? I have received WOs from even the bottom of the pile HSPs that stated "DO NOT SEND SAME TECH"
And at least forty years ago I was working in a United Parcel depot. ONE box of popcorn came off a truck broken open. Every employee who touched or ate a handful of popcorn as it went down a sorting conveyor was given the choice of resigning that shift or being charged with theft of interstate commerce. They did write a report to the shipper explaining how a few handfulls of popcorn may be missing.
Besides, you can't hire contractors. You hire employees.
