N.F.L. admitts mistake

On the NFL Network's "Total Access" show Mike Pereira, the NFL's vice president of officiating has admitted that referee Pete Morelli's crew should have called a 15-yard penalty against the Saints when Brett Favre was hit low ( in the knees) by defensive end Bobby McCray. Favres pass was intercepted. A penalty would have nullified the int. and given the Vikings the ball on the Saints 19. Pereira called it "pretty much a direct shot into the knees of Favre which isn't legal because of rules about going after a quarterbacks knees".   Pereira also addressed the 1st down call on 4th and 1 in overtime saying that "the ball was clearly knocked out on the first contact with the helmet of Chad Greenway and the forward progress point should have been at the first point that Thomas regaind possession. "That might not have been a first down."  A little late, but at least he's admitting it. It's to bad that those 2 calls may have cost the Vikings a Super Bowl bid.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.
