the problem is even what registers on the cmts is not a true value. is uses a mathimatical equasion to try and give a upstream snr/mer number based off of corrected and uncorrected codewords that the modems read. modem talk back speratically as burst data and there is no meter that can read and process fast enough to give a upstream MER/snr #.
